The Reader's Journey

Between worn pages, worlds unfold -
Some characters scared, but others bold.
Their struggles echo what I know,
But take me where I've yet to go.

Through every page, I laugh and cry,
Emotions soaring, oh so high.
The book becomes a trusted friend,
A journey I don't want to end.

When I reach the final page - I close it slow,
Reluctant to let it go.
For in this story, plain yet true,
I found myself - and someone new.
